On a state visit to India, Egyptian President Dr. Mohamed Morsy delivered a special address to the India-Egypt Business Forum meeting in New Delhi on March 20, 2013. He was accompanied by high level Cabinet Ministers and a strong business delegation. Union Minister of Commerce, Industry and Textiles Hon'ble Shri Anand Sharma presided over the session jointly organized by the three apex Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India. Captains of Industry from both sides were present in large numbers.
Chairman OIA Ambassador Dr.V.B.Soni, who had served in the Indian Embassy in Cairo many years back welcomed the Egyptian President on behalf of the Indian industry. He said that the bilateral trade which was of the order of $ 5.2 billion in 2011-12 has the potential of growing appreciably, keeping in view the synergies between the two nations.
Ambassador Soni said that Dr.Morsy's visit is bound to firmly establish a solid foundation for the intensification and enhancement of our mutually beneficial economic partnership and stronger bonds of business ties, setting up of joint ventures and investments etc., besides greater political understanding.
