An international conference - Corporate Education Engagement, Incentivization and Communication Architecture (CEICA) 2013- was organised by People Talent International on 9th August, 2013 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. Chairman OIA Ambassador V.B.Soni was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
The event wasattended by leading personalities in their respective fields with a focusto bridge gap between corporate sectorand education sector. They shared their experiences and viewpoints on how the two sectors can jointly work towards building institutions for regular learning and accelerate growth for individuals and organizations.
In his opening remarks Ambassador Soni shared his experiences during his 35 years old diplomatic career when he promoted Brand India globally as India's top official representative in more than dozen foreign countries. He recounted how in some hostile countries where he was posted he had to come up with innovative ways to put positive focus on IndiaOn retirement he saidhis transition to his current preoccupation as Chairman of OIA was easy and quick because of that experience and background.
While the requirement of corporate world was different Ambassador Soni talked of how he changed gear to help build unique brand image of a newly established company as the pioneer in undertaking vital infrastructure projects in Africa. He outlined three pronged strategy in this branding exercise.
The first involves branding andcorporate positioning, image building and promotion campaigns, earning recognition and awards for the company and for the top management,chairing sessions at various international conferences and events, media handling through speeches at corporate and knowledge events, press interviews etc. The second pertains to cultivating personal relationships with Government and diplomatic circles at the level of Heads of State/Government and foreign Ambassadors, other decision and opinion makers, apart from the peers in the corporate circle. Finally he stressed the importance of spelling out corporate objectivesthrough clearly defined vision statement, social acceptance and acknowledgement achieved through active Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) and capacity building, skill developmentinitiatives, so vital in Africa.
Chairman's speech was very much appreciated and drew sustained applause.
