Overseas Infrastructure Alliance (India) Pvt. Ltd, the leading project developer and execution companyin the African marketscommemorated its 10 successful years of business in Africa yesterday. The grand occasion, celebrated over cocktails and dinner at the Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi, also witnessed the farewell of the outgoing Chairman of the company Ambassador Dr. V.B. Soni who was among the earliest management leaders of the company and has made stellar contribution to build up the company to its current stature since the beginning of its operations. Simultaneously, OIA welcomed the incoming Chairman Mr. R.C. Sinha the senior former IAS officer, who is a leading light of the Indian infrastructure. Mr. Sinha has held key positions in the Government during his illustrious career which included setting up and heading organizations such as MSRTC& MSRDC and also been an infrastructure advisor to various StateGovernments and Government bodies.
The event was graced by the presence of senior Government officials, diplomats and Ambassadors of major African countries, bankers, leaders of trade bodies and business partners of OIA who expressed their congratulations to the OIA management and paid their best compliments to both the former and the incumbent Chairmen of the company.
Eminent diplomats such as H.E. Mrs. Genet Zewdie, the Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, H.E. Dr. Hassan E. El Talib, the Ambassador of Sudan, H.E. Mr Jose Maria De Silva Vieira Morais, the ambassador of Mozambique and H.E. Mr. Ernest Rwamucyo, the ambassador of Rwanda to India congratulated OIA on reaching the landmark of 10 years in Africa, recalled the contribution made by Ambassador Soni to OIA and Africa-India relations and conveyed their best wishes to Ambassador Soni and Mr. R.C. Sinha on the occasion. Ambassador Soni acknowledged the Company, its management and employees for their excellent support during his tenure, and the diplomats and other dignitaries for their accolades and wishes to him.
The succeeding Chairman, Mr. R. C Sinha expressed his enthusiasm abouttaking charge of OIA, when it is at the cusp of expanding its business horizons to India, and gave an insight into the company's plans to foray into the Indian infrastructure domain in the near future.
Speaking on the occasion,Mr. Ambuj Chaturvedi, Executive Director of OIAremarked that Mr. Sinha's invaluable experience along with his deep understanding of the infrastructure industry will steer OIA towards achieving its mission of delivering truly world class projects in India as well as across Africa hitherto.
