Job Role & Responsibilities
- To address legal risks and opportunities by proactively identifying them and bringing them together with the solution to the attention of the business partner in order to mitigate risks / exploit opportunities
- To carry out Counseling of Business Partner regarding a broad field of legal topics by gathering the facts, analyzing the legal framework, bringing in specialists, if necessary, and assuming responsibility for the solution for any legal issue arising in order to contribute to the success of the business
- To Co-ordinate with external Advocates of OIA with respect to the litigation matters – both domestic and international litigation
- To attend the Courts/judicial forums under guidance of the external Advocates of OIA
- To assist in legal proceedings by gathering facts, analyzing legal situation, setting up strategy, bringing in specialists, liaise with external lawyers, effectively managing costs in order to mitigate risks and exploit opportunities
- To manage claims both offensive and defensive by analyzing the contract, by setting up the strategy in order to optimize business position
- To control agreements and tenders by drafting / reviewing / negotiating all types of agreements, taking responsibility for LOA legal risk assessment (if applicable) in order to find good opportunities and to identify and mitigate business risks.
- To ensure sharing of legal knowledge within Legal and provide training to Business Partner by providing up-to-date knowledge tool, training materials and sessions and seek advice of internal specialists to maximize the benefit of best in class Legal community and proactively influence Business Partner behavior to identify business opportunities and minimize risks
- To file reports on material legal risks and proceedings by using IT-Tools and experience in risk evaluation in order to secure correct financial statements and inform top management on legal risks
- To manage relations with external lawyers by providing clear instruction and supervision to get sound and timely advice and have control of costs
- To ensure that all contracts are vetted for internal checks and balances and overseeing to it those records are kept with the Library. The Primary duty of ensuring that overseas contracts are signed by the organization after taking into consideration the internal policies of the organization shall be the responsibility of the Sr. Manager Legal.
